A breathtaking wonder to behold, the Grand Canyon in Arizona, USA, is one of the most studied landscapes in the world, with extensive fossil records, a multitude of geologic features and rich archeological history. ‘Layers of Time’ faithfully represents the layered bands of colorful rock that reveal millions of years of geologic history and which clearly show the passage of time. It’s impossible to forget the awe one feels at the first sight of mile deep canyons with the winding Colorado river below.

What to see and do at the Grand Canyon
Visit viewpoints such as Mather Point, Yavapai Observation Station and architect Mary Colter’s Lookout Studio and her Desert View Watchtower.
Stay at one of the park lodges in Grand Canyon Village which are open year round. Most are within walking distance of the canyon rim.
Take the shuttle bus or bike/hike to enjoy beautiful Hermit Road and Hermits Rest (7 miles/ 11.2 km) west of Grand Canyon Village. Between March 1 and Nov. 30, the road is closed to private vehicles. Access is by free shuttle bus, foot and bicycle.
