As Lolili customers actively build their collection of fine art scarves many have asked me about the best way to store and display them. So, in continuing this blog series, I bring you Part 4: How to Creatively Display Your Scarves

Check out Parts 1 - 3 to learn more about how to care for and store your scarves in this BLOG section.

How to Creatively Display Your Scarves

Scarves are art, regardless of how you wear or display them. You selected each special scarf for your collection because you love the design, resonate with the story, adore the colours, or all of the above.

But what are you doing with your scarves when you are not wearing them? In the case of Lolili fine art scarves, for example, it seems a shame to hide wearable art in a closet or drawer. Try to think outside the box and imagine them as room design accents or wall art.

A beautiful scarf gently draped over the corner of a sofa or chair does more than add a splash of colour to your favourite room. It also creates a readily available comfort item to toss over your shoulders when curled up with a hot tea and a good book.

So let your imagination soar when thinking how to display your scarves.

Strategically placed hooks, bars, or hangers support accent décor

Look for interesting ways to hang your favourite scarves on a wall. Pre-made towel bars, coat hooks and knobs, or suspended scarf rings can be an easy and economical way to show off your scarf collection and bring colour to your living space.

Try some unique props

Find a beautiful old ladder or high-backed chair next time you rummage through an antique shop or go to an estate sale. Sand it to remove splinters, varnish or paint it, and then lean it against a wall or sit it in an unused corner. Then drape your colourful collection of scarves over the rungs. Try suspending a cleaned and lacquered branch or a smooth rope along a bare wall to drape your favourite wraps on. Not only will you display your collection, but you will have created a stunning organizational art piece.

Wearable wall art

If you want to make a statement, you can hang your scarves directly on a wall as art. One Lolili scarf is currently hanging in a trendy café. There are many ways to do this. One way is to simply install a metal strip onto the wall and pick up some attractive button magnets. This way you can quickly and safely change your suspended textile art as many times as you have scarves.

Get started

Find what works for you in your own space. Search the internet for inspiration if you get stuck. Your displayed wearable art speaks about your style, personality, and unique flair so make sure it is all about YOU. A word of advice: whatever you decide to use is smooth and has no sharp edges or rough surfaces that could snag delicate fabric and that it is out of direct sunlight.

No matter what method you choose, a fine art scarf hung like this is a great conversation piece that speaks of you and what you like. Most important is to remember to think outside the box. Let your imagination be your guide. What could be more fun than interchanging your wearable wall art on a whim! Give it a try.
